More Background

I fit the description of the average white american male. I am married (to a woman of course) and have two children. We just bought a house and I have a stable job that I go to everyday from 8 to 5.

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (also known as the "Mormon" church). *gasp* Yes, that most likely means that I am a conservative type and a republican.

So, now you know a little bit more about me and will probably have a little better understanding of where my opinions come from.

Background on Me

My name is Nemesis. Of course that is only my screen name (or pseudonym for the more sophistocated types who may be reading). That name doesn't have much meaning as far as this blog is concerned, unless you care to think of this blog as my vengence on others whose loud mouthed opinions have led our world down paths that I don't care for.

But enough about that. More about me. I am a mechanical engineer by education and, somewhat, by nature. I have found that most mechanical engineers have a bit of the same nature in them. They want to know how everything works and will go to great lengths (sometimes) to get that knowledge (including taking things apart that work perfectly fine until they touch it - sorry mom and dad). Often this intense curiosity is about mechanical things but the curiousity does not always contain itself in that category. Therefore, engineers (meaning those who have the engineering nature) can frequently be considered a "jack of all trades" because they try to find out how EVERYTHING works - politics, the earth, space, the human body, economics, etc.

Because of this interesting phenomenon I have had many conversations with the other engineers at my place of employment about world issues such as global warming, emerging technology, and so forth. I hope to incorporate some of the knowledge gained through this interchange with my peers.

It is my wish that you take away from this some new perspective and maybe even start thinking about everything you hear from a more reasonable and less media-hyped point of view. Enjoy!

Welcome

Welcome one and all!

The sole purpose of this blog is be a public grounds for me to vent my opinions about the world today. I hope that this blog may have some influence on people and help them to approach the world from a more reasonable angle.

I do not claim to be a good writer, though I feel that I do have a fair amount of talent for putting words together in an understandable and meaningful way. I also do not claim to be able to spell or type perfectly, though I do try to verify the spelling of words I am unfamiliar with. If you are an English professor, or just the type that hates to see spelling errors printed for the whole world to see, please feel free to point out any mistakes you may find and I will try to correct them.

Enjoy my take on stuff!
